Salad bar time 🥗🥗🥗!! We opened the gates & moved a mob of lambs on to this winter multi species paddock for them to enjoy! Tillage radish, leafy turnip, clover, oats, field peas, faba beans, rye grass, vetch, just to name a few!Davo has been drilling this mix into grass country in March, no tilling, just straight into grass. As the season changes, the weather cools, the grasses go to sleep & these winter species come to life providing a valuable nutrient dense food source & elevating our pastures in a time that would usually be a lull in pasture quality.🥗🤠
May 30, 20241000 trees planted last week 🌳🌳🌳!! Thanks to @megg_millar @chelsea.mifsud4 @bellevuedavid Robbie & Daffo for their help planting! These trees will grow into tree lines that will provide shelter belts, wind breaks & habitat for native birds and animals! When we first moved to Bellevue in the early 90’s mum & dad took on a property that had been historically over cleared, & pioneered for cotton… over the years tree planting has been something that they have prioritised, with over 30,000 trees planted. I love the Chinese proverb, “the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is today”! I look forward to watching these tree lines take shape 🌳🦉
